JackPop ("we," "our," or "us") operates the JackPop Shopify app and the website at jackpop.app. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when merchants use our Shopify app and when end customers interact with the JackPop popup on Shopify stores.

1. Information We Collect

When a merchant installs JackPop:

• Shop domain and Shopify store information
• Store owner contact details provided by Shopify
• Subscription and billing status via Shopify's billing API

When a customer interacts with the JackPop popup:

• Email address (only when voluntarily entered into the game)
• Discount codes won during gameplay
• Timestamps of popup impressions and game interactions
• Shop domain where the interaction occurred

We do not collect:

• Customer names, addresses, or payment information
• Browsing history or behavior beyond the popup interaction
• Device fingerprinting or cross-site tracking data

2. How We Use Information

We use collected information to:

• Provide the JackPop app and its features to merchants
• Generate and deliver discount codes to winning customers
• Create customer records in the merchant's Shopify store with appropriate tags
• Analyze anonymized performance statistics for merchants
• Improve the app and fix issues
• Communicate with merchants about their subscription, updates, and support

3. Sharing of Information

We share information only:

• With Shopify, as necessary to provide the app functionality
• With the merchant whose store the customer interacted with (their own customer data remains under their control)
• When required by law, subpoena, or legal process
• With service providers who help us operate the app (hosting, database, email) under strict confidentiality agreements

We do not:

• Sell customer or merchant data to third parties
• Share data with advertisers
• Use data for purposes unrelated to providing JackPop

4. Data Retention

• Merchant data is retained while the app is installed and for 30 days after uninstallation
• Customer interaction data is retained while the merchant is active, and permanently deleted within 30 days of the merchant uninstalling the app
• Compliance webhooks (customer data request, customer redact, shop redact) are processed within 30 days of receipt per Shopify's requirements

5. Cookies and Tracking

JackPop uses minimal tracking:

• Session storage on the merchant's storefront to remember if a customer has dismissed the popup (cleared when the browser session ends)
• No third-party tracking cookies, analytics pixels, or advertising trackers

6. Your Rights (GDPR, CCPA, and Similar)

Customers and merchants have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about them
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of their data
• Object to processing or restrict how their data is used
• Data portability

To exercise these rights, contact support@jackpop.app. Shopify merchants can also request data deletion via Shopify's built-in GDPR webhook system.

7. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect data, including:

• Encrypted connections (HTTPS) for all data transmission
• Secure database hosting with access controls
• Regular security updates and monitoring
• Limited employee access to customer data

No system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's Privacy

JackPop is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information to JackPop, contact us and we will delete it.

9. International Transfers

JackPop is based in New Zealand. Data may be stored and processed in countries outside your own. By using the app, you consent to this transfer.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top indicates the most recent revision. Significant changes will be communicated to merchants via email or in-app notification.
